Historic Java-China-Japan Lijn ship poster (S.S. Tjisaroea). Unknown date - although not before 1926, when the S.S. Tjisaroea was built. Print on original board backing, intended for display in travel agent offices dealing in South and East Asian trade. Identical piece was auctioned April 1st, 2010 by Zwiggelaar Auctions (Netherlands), identified as the "only known specimen." Some water spotting, taped along all four edges - otherwise in good condition. Measures approximately 27" x 37.75"

Built in 1926, the S.S. Tjisaroea was captured by the Japanese Navy on April 3,1942 and renamed "Chilhaya Maru." It was torpedoed by the USS Seahorse on February 11, 1943.
