Authentic Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair with Ottoman. Model 670 & 671 in Brazilian Rosewood finish and Black Leather upholstery.
Good Day. I used to work for Herman Miller, and I sold the exquisite Charles and Ray Eames designer furniture back in the early 80s in New York City. As you may know. . .back then the "original" chair and ottoman came standard in Brazilian rosewood but since then the company added Walnut and Cherry finishes due to the environmental restrictions on Brazilian rosewood. So, if you are looking for a true "classic" you may want to consider only chairs with a Brazilian rosewood finish.
As a Herman Miller employee I purchased the exquisite Eames pieces back in 1983 and have been the sole owner. The furniture has resided in our living room (aka the museum) and has had very little use. It was not abused, we had no pets, the children were not allowed to sit on it and we do not smoke.
Ottoman condition:
The ottoman shows little/normal use. The ottoman feet have retained all the domes of silence due to lack of use There are two very, very minor dings about ¼" inch in width on the each side of the ottoman from family moves. If I didn't tell you. . .you probably wouldn't have noticed them..
Chair condition:
The chair looks brand new and the leather is in excellent condition.
Veneer / leather condition:
The Brazilian rosewood veneer is in excellent vintage condition, has a beautiful grain and the chair matches perfectly to the ottoman. The leather is in excellent vintage condition from little use. The black leather is clean and does NOT have any tears, rips, or holes, etc.
Summary
Since the furniture was little used the two pieces are in perfect shape and neither needed any replacement parts. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me or, if you would like specific photos, please let me know as well as the details of the photos you would like to see.
Domestic shipping:
You are welcome to pick up the chair and save on shipping. We live in Mount Laurel, NJ (15 minutes east of Philadelphia). Otherwise, shipping will be done via UPS / Fedex. The chair will be taken apart and shiped in 2 double-walled cardboard boxes to ensure the product won't be damaged. The cot will be $375.00.
Here is how we need to finalize our arrangement:
1. I will need your full name, address and phone number. I will provide mine as well.
2. I also need your email address to email you a PayPal request for funds.
3. In turn, you need to provide PayPal (paypal.com) with your credit card info
4. PayPal will forward your funds into my account.
5. Once I know PayPal has received your funds I will telephone you to discuss shipping and/or pickup.
